Ann sips her coffee.
‘I don’t know how to tell my kids that there’s no way we can cope with the list they’ve sent to Santa,’ she says. ‘If we can afford one thing on the list it’ll be a lot. And I don’t know how to deal with their disappointment.’
It makes sense that there are many parents out there this year who have similar thoughts.
So here’s your invitation to join our surprise project for Parents, commencing on the 12th of the 12th:
‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ – a letter to Santa and his reply for Parents each day for 12 days until Christmas Eve.
Here’s the letters published so far.
Day 1 What to do with Children’s ‘Great Expectations’?
Day 2 ‘Need’ or ‘Want’
Day 3 Dealing with Disappointment
Day 4 Christmas Surprises
Day 5 Three Key Questions Regarding Purchases
Day 6 o Money This Christmas
Day 7 Christmas is for Giving
Day 8 When Sad or Bad Things Happen
Day 9 When Grown Ups Fight
Day 10 An Attitude of Gratitude
Day 11 How to Catch a Monkey
Day 12 Value of Crisis and Less
How intriguing! Can’t wait to see what will happen on the 12 days! We could all use some help with what to tell our kids about the financial constraints this Christmas.
Thanks for your note, Tricia. Only ‘three more sleeps’ till we share this project!
